The Black Swan

This is another collaboration with Bacon, a Production company based in Oslo, in another terrific short film, this time for ATG. My job was to take care of the texturing process for the model of the ship, the giant octopus, and the hook. The original ship model was made by Jakub Vaja and was purchased on Turbosquid. I did many small improvements, redone and simulated the sails and the ropes. Then UV, textures, and lookdev were done from scratch.

After the film was completed I wanted to have a play with the ship in Unreal Engine, and I ended up making a short film myself, using Master & Commander as inspiration, and one of it's classic duets as soundtrack. I also decided to make some still renders, tweaking the ocean values and the lighting shot by shot.

A great "thank you" goes to the guys who developed Waterline PRO, the plugin used to create the water. Not only does it look outstanding, but their tech support was extremely helpful!
